Sleeping Beauty Storytelling Blog

Down at the Playhouse, extensive work has been undertaken to restore the building back to its original state - as the region’s foremost enchanted castle.

As we all know, it was once home to a certain somnolent princess who will be pleased to hear that every care has been taken in re-creating her sumptuous bedroom [after all, she spent a lot of time in there!].

We have been using traditional building methods such as the sticky dot- and- staple technique to re-create authentic structures, like the castle’s crenalations [a nod in Sarah’s direction for that nugget of technical lingo] and the singular pink brickwork.

What we now have is the perfect sanctuary for storytelling and, of course, we will be spinning the famous yarn [watch those fingers!] of our famous slumbering beauty.

Next week, the Playhouse will be paved with gold in honour of one Mr Whittington and his cat.
