Andrew Reece
OEDIPUSSY
Oedipussy
"After double checking the name of the show, and then hearing what the premise was, the overture from 'A Funny Thing Happened… ' came into my head. Greek drama plus pratfall farce is a thumbs up from me. And a bit of 'Barbarella' thrown in for good measure! What more could one want?"

Leah Abbott
HENRY V
Henry V
"I love exciting and new interpretations of Shakespeare, traditional or modern, and Henry V was a surprising favourite of mine from University. Unusually picked for the stage generally, but memorable because of its emotional and very human speeches by a young King that grows up before your eyes, from flippant and privileged young man, to an eloquent and empathetic leader, worthy of his subjects' loyalty on the battlefields of France. The St Crispen’s Day speech never fails to give me goosebumps. I am also looking forward to our co-production with The Globe, two top theatres collaborating on this patriotic story of the Battle of Agincourt. This can be a fast paced, action packed depiction of war, alongside thoughtful speeches about dilemma and consequence, and I am particularly looking forward to how this production will tackle these themes."

Scott Turner
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
A Streetcar Named Desire

"I’m looking forward to Streetcar more than anything else because I love to be transported to a different place when I’m watching theatre. I find the American dramatists do this most effectively. The heat and electricity of Williams' writing is palpable. I won’t be sat in my seat when I’m watching. I’ll be in New Orleans, in the Kowlaski household."

Gemma Murrell
MOGADISHU
Mogadishu
"My pick of the season is Mogadishu, which looks to be a very provocative play, I think audiences will be challenged and will be left with questions - and I like a play that stays in my head for days afterwards! I’m also attracted to new writing as a fresh voice and the fact that the writer's experience as a teacher will add an authenticity to the story. I’ve also heard many wonderful things about the young cast and I find it very inspirational watching young talent."

Dominic Beaumont
OEDIPUSSY
Oedipussy
"Oedipussy is sure to be a particular highlight of the Playhouse’s spring season due to the anarchic joy that Toby Park, Petra Massey, Aitor Basauri and Stephan Kreiss bring to pretty much every situation. Teaming the Spymonkey gang with always beguiling Kneehigh, through director Emma Rice and writer Carl Grose means Oedipussy should be an eccentric laugh a minute debauchery of every Greek classic you’ve ever seen."

Sarah Ogle
MARY SHELLEY

Mary Shelley
"Shared Experience have been absent from our stages for a while and I'm really pleased they're back. I’ve always enjoyed their more physical approach to storytelling and am very much looking forward to them exploring the life of another one of our literature greats. Mary Shelley was a precocious talent, writing a novel that was so far ahead of its time at the age of just 19 and I can’t wait to find out more."
