As well as the work on our stages, the Everyman and Playhouse are committed to extending the experience, aspiration and challenge of theatre beyond the stage. Our work in the community provides a meaningful way to give back to the local area whilst presenting your company as a responsible business to staff, clients and the wider community.

ENDZ - NO wORD OF a LIE
A touring production that tackles issues of crime, territory and space.
ENDZ is new production that will tour around Merseyside in April and May 2011, taking a professional theatre production into community centres, schools, and other community venues, supported by an education programme. The production focuses on boundaries, territory and space and has been created purely using the words from interviews with young people on the periphery of, or involved in gangs, police, ex-offenders, residents, Councillors, youth workers, drug dealers and mothers.

The theatres are committed to supporting the work of schools, colleges and universities in the region and each season sees a variety of shows suitable for different levels of study. It regularly includes set texts and the best touring work from around the country and abroad, demonstrating a wide range of theatrical styles. The Ed Plus programme provides a range of activities that link to the theatres production programme including workshops, masterclasses and talks.
Youth Theatre
Support the city’s stars of the future.
The Everyman Youth Theatre was founded in the mid-seventies and became one of the most successful youth theatres in the country. It was the starting point in the careers of many successful actors, musicians, writers and theatre practitioners including Ian Hart, David Morrissey and Cathy Tyson. Today, the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres are continuing this tradition by providing the highest quality youth theatre training for the stars of the future. Each year the Everyman and Playhouse Youth Theatre takes to the Everyman stage for a full scale production.
Young Writers
Nurture a new generation of Liverpool writers.
Aspiring young writers aged 16 to 25 embark on a programme that introduces playwriting as a unique, imaginative and invaluable way to express themselves creatively. We open up theatre to the most innovative, original and exciting new voices, to create a new generation of Liverpool writers who will challenge and engage nationwide audiences.
