Wendi Peters
Wendi is best known for her role as Cilla Battersby Brown in Coronation Street and ‘Podger’ Pam Jolly in Bad Girls. Other television includes Cardiac Arrest, Out of the Blue and film credits include Gyppo and Emily in In Love and War.
Wendi has had been busy over the past year, starting out as a finalist on Celebrity Masterchef. She then toured around Ireland with the one woman play Mrs Whippy, written by Cecelia Ahern – whose other work includes the novel Ps. I Love You - which became the hit 2007 film starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank. In the autumn she then performed in the successful sell out tour of Grumpy Old Women: Live alongside Jennie Eclair and Susie Blake – which has recently transferred to the west end.
Other theatre credits include tours of Hello, Dolly! and Guys and Dolls, Cindy in Sugar, Miss Electra in Gypsy (West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds), Jan in Grease (Olympia Theatre, Dublin), Sue in A Slice of Saturday Night (Playhouse, Derby), Sally in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods (Wolsey, Ipswich), Mrs Brown in Me and My Girl, Louise in Murder on the Nile, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Poppy in Noises Off, Kate in Bedroom Farce (Palace, Westcliff) and Hobby in Teachers (Hull Truck). She was part of the cast of Children Will Listen, which celebrated Stephen Sondheim’s 75th birthday (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) and Sondheim’s Follies in Concert (London Palladium).

Barrie Rutter
Founder and Artistic Director of Northern Broadsides
Barrie Rutter was born in Hull and since leaving school in 1964 his acting career has stretched from Hamburg to Helsinki, Bradford to Beijing and includes film, television and radio. But
he is best described as a ‘theatre animal’, and has had his happiest moments on the stage, whether in Shakespeare’s Globe, London or the ancient amphitheatre of Epidaurus.
His theatre work includes: for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Henry IV, Henry V, Coriolanus and The Taming of the Shrew; for the Royal National Theatre, The Mysteries, The Crucible, Guys and Dolls, The Oresteia, The Rivals, Animal Farm, Martine and The Trackers of Oxyrhynchus.
In 2008 Rutter directed and played the title role in the premiere of Jack Lear by Ben Benison at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough and directed The Tempest for THOC Cyprus
