The following education packs from previous seasons are available below:
The Tempest by William Shakespeare
The Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brecht
School Visits are available as part of our support of schools and colleges on Merseyside. If you would like a member of Theatre and Community to come and speak to you about ways in which we can support your work and your school, then please call us on 0151 706 9112.
General Theatre Tours
Tours of both the Everyman and Playhouse are available to schools and colleges on set dates throughout the season.
Through a tour of the building, students will learn about the history of theatre in relation to both the building and changes to the art form itself. The tour also takes a practical look at how theatre works, and can include looking at the theatre as a business and the possible careers in theatre (linked to the BTEC Performing Arts Course). The tours can be tailored to suit your specific educational requirements.
Technical Theatre Tours
We also offer technical theatre tours, which are led by a member of our technical department.
All Playhouse tours cost £3 per head and Everyman Tours cost £2 per head. If you wish to book a tour then please call Vicky Adlard on 0151 706 9113.
The Drama Teachers’ Forum
This is a free support network for drama teachers in Merseyside which meets twice a term at the Everyman Theatre. It is organised by the theatres and drama teachers from our partner schools.
Being a drama teacher can often be an isolating experience within school. Many teachers find that they have very few or no people to share their ideas and experiences with in relation to their subject.
The Drama Teachers’ Forum aims to address this issue through the sharing of ideas and resources. We also organise theatre activities, discussions and training opportunities.
If you are interested in joining the forum then please call 0151 706 9112.
…the Drama Teachers’ Forum provides teachers with a real voice and the opportunity to shape and influence the activities that go on in the theatres…the theatre listens!
Head of Drama, Halewood College
It’s been very helpful swapping and sharing ideas, material and problems. Drama/Performing Arts can often be sidelined and this group is an excellent way to redress some of this. I’m aware of how much more I can work with the Everyman Playhouse now.
Head of Drama, Archbishop Blanch CE High School
Work Experience
Unfortunately we are unable to offer work experience placements to students. At present we don’t have a fully developed and supportive training programme in place. We are looking into ways of being able to offer a quality learning experience to students but are very much restricted by schedules and health and safety regulations.
